Show cattle feed and show pig feed, sorted by the job they do
Every True North show feed is built to be the main ration. The pig feeds are fed by themselves, and the cattle feeds are fed as the only grain alongside good grass hay. Which bag you need depends on the animal in front of you and where he is in the feeding period, so here is the whole line sorted by the job each feed does.
Start here
Show cattle: when a calf comes home, start him on TNT ProCob, then move him to TNT Show Cattle Developer for the growing period. Switch steers to TNT Show Cattle Finisher about 120 days before your final show.
Show pigs: TNT 16% Balance is the safe place to start. From there you adjust to the pig: more muscle shape, more cover, or holding him where he is. The list below shows which feed does which job.

Show cattle feeds
- TNT ProCob: a complete pelleted feed with a locked formula of 400 pounds of cob per ton (12% protein, 21.5% fiber). Use it to receive and precondition calves, as part of a holding ration on big cattle, and anytime you want more rib and dimension. For show day fill, make it 20 to 40% of the ration.
- TNT Show Cattle Developer: a texturized feed (14% protein, 9% fiber) to get calves started and keep them growing. Feeding it early builds gut capacity, so later on he can eat enough to finish. Mix it 50/50 with ProCob for a 13% creep or starter feed.
- TNT Show Cattle Finisher: a higher energy texturized feed (12% protein, 4.5% fat) for the final push to show ring bloom and finish. It also works anytime on larger framed, heavier muscled cattle that need more cover.
Developer and Finisher contain Rumensin, so keep horses and other equines away from them.
Show pig feeds
- TNT 16% Balance: balances growth and muscle development for a show ready look (16% protein, 1.1% lysine).
- TNT 15% Easy: for pigs that need more bulk, body and cover (15% protein, 6% fat, 5% fiber). It eases muscle shape without taking it away, and the extra fiber and fat make it a good fit for breeding gilts.
- TNT 18% Shape: for more muscle shape and less fat cover (18% protein, 1.3% lysine). Feed it anytime, or blend it with 16% Balance to grow or with 22% Prep for more bloom.
- TNT 18% Shape Low Fat Pellet: muscle shape with less cover and less gut fill. It is especially useful on more mature barrows that start carrying too much belly.
- TNT 10% Melt: our lowest protein, lowest lysine feed (10% protein, 0.5% lysine), for mature hogs with more muscle than their frame can carry.
- TNT 22% Prep: for sale prep, the final show prep, or anytime he needs extra muscle shape, cover and bloom (22% protein, 7% fat).
