Description

The first problem

It is nine o’clock and the feed is still sitting there

You have tried the yogurt, the milk replacer, the soaking, skipping a meal to make him hungry. Everybody in the barn has a trick and you have worked down the list.

Every one of those tricks works on the taste buds, and taste is not what shut the appetite off. An animal quits eating because something is off in the gut, and you cannot fix a gut problem with flavor.

CR does that work. All of it. The patented PreVent immune modulator, the probiotics, prebiotics and postbiotics. It is the same gut and appetite formula as the original TrueGlo, unchanged.

The second problem

Then it has to go somewhere

Getting him eating is the first half. What the feed turns into is the second.

You have seen the animal this happens to. He eats. He cleans it up, he comes to the bunk, and somehow it is not turning into anything. He is getting softer instead of harder. The cover is coming before the shape is.

Good feed going in, wrong animal coming out.

What is actually going on

Feed has to be partitioned, and stress breaks the partitioning

Once he has eaten, his body has to decide where it goes. Muscle or cover. A nutritionist calls that partitioning. That decision runs on insulin, and insulin runs on chromium.

Chromium propionate improves insulin efficiency by a factor of eight.

That is not a small adjustment to how well the machine runs. That is the difference between feed that lands and feed that goes by.

Here is the part that catches show animals specifically: stress burns chromium. Hauling, co-mingling, a hot stretch, a new pen, the run-up to a show. The same pressure that shuts an appetite off is also draining the mineral that decides what the feed becomes.

So you get the animal who is eating and not building. He is not lazy and he is not badly bred. He is short on the thing that decides where the groceries go.

What CR adds

Both halves, in one bag

CR is TrueGlo with chromium propionate added, in a low copper formulation. Not a different product. The same one, plus the mineral that partitions the feed.

So you get the appetite work and the muscle work out of the same scoop.

More muscle. Less cover.

More of what you are already buying turns into the shape you are after, and less of it turns into the fat you will be working to keep off him later. A nutritionist would call that lean accretion. In the barn it is the difference between an animal who is getting better and an animal who is just getting bigger.

Chromium propionate is highly available, meaning the animal can actually get at it rather than passing most of it through.

What it costs to run

The chromium does not cost you anything

CR is the original TrueGlo with chromium propionate added. It is also a bigger bag, six pounds against five and a quarter, and it is priced to match.

Run the arithmetic and both come out at about seventy five cents a head per day for a pig. Same cost to run. Same appetite work. Same gut work.

You are getting the chromium for free.

And you are not trading anything for it. CR does the appetite work exactly the way the original does it. Nothing was taken out to make room for the chromium.

So this is not really a choice between two products. It is the same product, with one more thing in it, at the same cost per day.

Choosing between them

Which TrueGlo bag is yours

All four run the same appetite and gut base. What changes is what is added on top of it.

TrueGlo. The base on its own: appetite and gut.

If that is the whole of what you need, and for a lot of people it is, this bag is perfectly good and it is the cheapest of the four to run.

Pigs, cattle, sheep and goats
5.25 lb · about 132 days for a pig, lamb or goat · about 33 days for a steer

You are here

TrueGlo CR. The base plus chromium propionate.

Chromium is the mineral that decides whether the feed he eats turns into muscle or into cover. This is the bag for the animal who eats plenty and does not do much with it.

Pigs and cattle
6 lb · about 151 days for a pig · about 37 days for a steer

TrueGlo Turbo. The base plus body temperature reduction plus skin and hair.

Three jobs. This is the bag for a show pig going through a summer, and it is what you feed from the day he comes home.

Exhibition swine
10 lb · about 80 days for one pig

TrueGlo Turbo Shag. Turbo plus a melatonin hair push.

For the last stretch only. Start it 60 days out from your target show. Turbo itself is melatonin free, and that is the difference between the two bags.

Exhibition swine
10 lb · about 80 days for one pig · fed the last 60 days

CR and Turbo are not steps on a ladder. They answer different second questions. CR is about where the feed goes once he has eaten it. Turbo is about carrying him through the heat and putting hair on him. Pick the one that matches the problem you actually have.

How to feed it

Top dress it right on the ration

15 mLone small scoop per feeding · pigs
60 mLone large scoop per feeding · cattle

Same two scoops as base TrueGlo. No measuring, no mixing, no separate step.

CR comes in a 6 pound bag. That runs about 151 days for a pig and about 37 days for a steer, because a steer is on four times the dose.

Feed it every day, both feedings, all the way through. Not just when you notice something. The mineral gets burned by the same stress that causes the problem, so the time you most need it in him is the time it is most likely to be running short.

On a steer that is four or five bags across a season. The subscription ships on schedule and takes 10% off.

The craft stays yours

CR does not feed him and it does not work him. It gets him eating, and then it makes sure what he eats ends up where you meant it to go.

Questions we actually get

Straight answers

What is the difference between TrueGlo and TrueGlo CR?Chromium propionate, and nothing else. CR does the same appetite and gut work as the original, with no change to that side of the formula. The chromium is added on top, and it puts more of what he eats into muscle instead of cover.
Is CR more expensive to feed? No. CR is a bigger bag and it is priced to match, so both work out to about seventy five cents a head per day for a pig. The chromium does not add to what it costs you to run.
Should I feed both? No. CR already contains everything the original has, so feeding both means paying twice for the same gut work. Feed one or the other.
He is eating fine already. Is there any point?Yes. The appetite work keeps him eating through the stress that is coming, and the chromium decides what that feed turns into. An animal who is already eating well is exactly the one you want partitioning it correctly.
How long does a bag last?CR is a 6 pound bag. About 151 days for a pig, which covers a whole project. About 37 days for a steer, because cattle are on four times the dose.
Why are there two scoops in the bag?Because a pig and a steer are not the same animal. The 15 mL scoop is the pig dose, the 60 mL scoop is the cattle dose. Both are in there so you are not converting anything.
What if I am not satisfied?Let us know and Doc will make it right. You will not have to ship anything back. That is the whole policy.
